The Position:
Heavy Hammer has an immediate opening for an exceptional web developer with 3-5+ years experience developing and maintaining PHP/MySQL based web applications and websites to join our growing web development team. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, self-starter with a “can do” attitude, and able to work in a fast paced startup-like environment. This is an on site position located in our Annapolis, MD offices.
This is a newly created position. The web developer will work at our Annapolis offices and will report to the Senior Web Developer.
PHP Developer Qualifications:
- You believe in writing clean, readable and maintainable code
- PHP 5.6 and 7.x, SQL, JavaScript, HTML5/CSS and experience working with MySQL
- Familiar with integrating REST APIs.
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery workflows and Version control (Git)
- Solid understanding of web application security principles and practices
- Demonstrated understanding of Object Oriented programming concepts and patterns
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience working with WordPress
- You’ve built an application using a PHP framework such as Laravel
- Experience using one or more JavaScript libraries or frameworks (jQuery, Vue, Angular, etc.)
- You’ve written some Python code, are familiar with BASH scripting and are not afraid of the Linux command line
Experience:
BA/BS OR equivalent demonstrated work experience
3-5+ Years experience developing PHP applications
